As the Senior Project Manager, I was responsible for mentoring the IT team, delivering IT projects and setting up best practices within the IT Group. The primary project that I worked on was a multi-year application development project which replaced the Policy, Claims, Underwriting and Administration system that currently existed. The new application was built from the ground up using Agile Project Management and Development methodologies. During this project I was responsible for a team of over 20 people (technical and business) as well as managing the expectations of a multi-company steering committee and numerous stakeholders.
Highlights of the project:
Working within a Project Management Office, I was responsible for the delivery of Information Technology projects, reporting to executive sponsors, planning and executing tasks while following PMI principles. During my time at the insurance company I worked on projects outside of the enterprise software project
Highlights of the projects:
As a project manager, I was focused on project management best practices, following the PMI processes. Working with the project team, I work towards completing the project within scope, time, and budget.
In my application consultant role, I was responsible for the implementation of an ERP Software package called Made2Manage which uses Microsoft SQL Server. Working closely with the client to create a project plan that that will allow the implementation of the software in the required time is a primary focus. I am involved in creating an education path as well as training users in the software. I worked closely the project team, helping the client understand the functionality of the software and working towards melding the company’s internal business processes and the ERP software through a detailed GAP analysis.
I also have been responsible for developing specifications for customized development, collecting requirements from the customer and working with the developers in creating a scope of work.
Customer/Project highlights:
As the Manager of IT, I evaluated software and hardware requirements for a company with 150 employees. As the Project Manager for the implementation of a Y2K compliant Manufacturing/Accounting software package, I created Requests For Proposals (RFP) for both hardware and software. I lead the implementation of a manufacturing and accounting software package as well as the infrastructure which supported the application. After the Y2K implementation my main role was to maintain the software package as well as the network, create a hardware renewal strategy, report writing and minor programming. I also managed junior developers, and their projects.
